who is in your "support system"

 

Being homeless is very stressful and confusing, but you don’t have to go through it by yourself. Sometimes you will become so overwhelmed that you may feel like you are all by yourself, so here are some tips that may help you.

Create a List of People you know that can be your Support System
List family and friends that you trust that you can rely on and list how they can help you. You may list a cousin that can let you stay a night at her house if you can’t get into shelter, a friend that can lend you some money if you need a few dollars for food or maybe a sister that you can call just to talk to when things feel like they are falling apart.

Sign up for Case Management or Support Services
Case managers are trained to help you develop a plan for to get out of you current situation and make better choices for you and your family. If you want to sign up for case management services or want more information click on the link Homeless Prenatal Program.

CALL TALKLINE 415-441-KIDS, free support services for families who need it. They have counselors that you can talk to 24 hours a day as well as support groups and programs for everyone in the family.
