Deciding to Become Clean and Sober
For many people this is the first step. It is okay if you are not ready to give up alcohol or drugs yet. This is a big decision and sobriety does not happen the minute you decide to stop using.

If you want to meet people who are also getting clean and sober, but are still not ready to commit to a program you can always check out an NA or AA program. NA meetings are for recovering addicts and are held at various locations in San Francisco and meet regularly

You may feel that you want to make the decision to become clean and sober but don’t know how. There are many programs you can join to talk to someone about your options and help you create a plan to stay clean and sober that will work for you and your family. If you want to talk to a case manager about your choices, the Homeless Prenatal Program has great case managers that can help and support you while you take that first step on the road to recovery.

Respite care for your children while you are going into detox
Some programs don’t allow you to have your children with you when you in recovery. Maybe you want to take this time to focus on yourself. You may be able to ask supportive family members or friends to watch your children while you are in a program but if not you can always call the following organization.
